Original air dates August – September 1975. Last episode with Harry for a while, and last with the Brigadier for even longer. Four parts.
Starts an oil derrick, and a man talking on the radio, gets interrupted. Calls Mayday as the derrick falls over and sinks.
Doctor leads Harry and Sarah across a field, finding a road. They catch a lift in to town.
They start investigating the issue. The innkeeper sets up the moors as being a risky place when it gets misty.
A survivor washes ashore, and staggers to his feet. The Baron’s man shoots him as a poacher. Harry arrives to help and is also shot.
More whispering villians. They are sticky and icky and want to see the Doctor destroyed.
One of them is in the hospital, and grabs Sarah who screams rather understandably. Looks like a pork pie before its cooked. Credits roll.
Sarah and Harry are missing, possibly wandering around the moors, the scary scary moors.
Sarah is in the decompression chamber. The Doctor goes in to get her, and porkpie slams the door and puts the vents in to lower pressure.
Harry’s been taken to the Zygons. Who are going to reclaim the Earth using sea monsters.
Doctor hypnotises Sarah not to breathe and to feel nothing.
UNIT at the local pub gets gassed.
Benton gets them out of the pressure chamber.
Fog on the moors, and a dinosaur.
They run a copy of Harry to run errands with.
They find a man maimed by the monster.
Everyone goes to look so Harry goes back to get the thing the Zygons lost. He act funny and Sarah asks a lot of questions, so he runs away. Sarah gets some UNIT guys and follows him. She sees a Zygon for a minute before it is disintegrated.
The homing beacon activates. The Doctor leads the monster off – steals a jeep, which dies mysteriously – and then runs like a bunny.
The Brigadier tracks the signal to Loch Ness – the Lock Ness Monster, yay! – and the Doctor keeps running. The Zygons exhort their monister to destroy the Doctor, when the sneaky credits roll. Oops.
Off they go to Loch Ness to visit Baron Grumpyface. It goes poorly.
The innkeeper finds the bug the soldiers had been looking for, and the Nurse shows up – as an alien costume – and kills him for it. The alien runs off, UNIT guys surrounding it in the woods. It’s the Nurse again, and the UNIT guys don’t shoot. She steals a Jeep and drives off.
Left in the Baron’s library, Sarah finds a secret passage, and immediately goes to investigate. It is at least recently used as there’s a modern flashlight sitting right inside the door.
Doctor and Brigadier rush back to the castle, but Sarah’s been noticed. She’s found the Zygon ship. She finds the bodies being used as costume-patterns. The Baron, Nurse, and Henchman come back to destroy the girl.
The Brigadier and Doctor enter the library as Sarah and Harry come out the secret door. The Zygons grab the Doctor as a hostage and return to their ship, which is partially activated.
UNIT drops depth charges on them to get their attention, and the ship flies off into the credits.
UNIT tracks by RADAR, the Zygons land and hide again.
The Zygons move thier sea monster elsewhere, and have a Plan. The Doctor gets a signal out to UNIT. They’re in .. a disused quarry.
The Doctor finds the others and sets them free. He triggers a self destruct and runs away. UNIT arrives as it blows. They figure out where the faux-Duke is going and head there themselves.
They kill the last Zygon, and then find the signal generator, which the Doctor throws into the Thames.
They go back to the TARDIS, which the Doctor takes “straight back to London, five minutes ago”.
The Baron – less a grumpypuss when he’s not an alien – gets a good crack in at the end.
