Original air dates September and October of 1975. Why do I think the Doctor didn’t go straight back to London?
An old man comes out with a grave marker, which he places on a grave.
Two other men are mining in a cave. The older doesn’t want to leave to he doesn’t lose his vein. The younger leaves him so he doesn’t have to hike back after dark.
The man who marked the grave goes outside, gets killed, or at least fades away.
The younger man makes it back to the base, finds no one there. Also fades away.
The Doctor gets a distress call and gleefully materializes to check it out. He’s overshot London by 30,000 years, but that doesn’t bother him.
A spaceship lands on the red planet. Zeta Minor, last planet of the known universe.
The Doctor finds two men, both apparently months dead. No power at the base. A lost expedition! Sarah runs back to the TARDIS for a chunk of equipment.
Some guys from the spaceship show up and steal the TARDIS via transmat. Sarah and all!
The Professor climbs out of the brush and leads the spacemen to the base, where they find the Doctor. Professor is confused. Spacemen disbelieve. Spaceship lands.
Spacemen are blaming Doctor and/or Sarah for the killings, and plan on executing them to solve the problem.
Doctor and Sarah escape through an open window. An invisible monster menaces them outside. Credits roll.
One of the spacemen zaps the monster to no avail and is noisily killed, fading away. Doctor and Sarah flee. Two more spacemen show up, no sign of the missing guard or the invisible monster. The dead guard, months aged, appears behind them.
The spacemen find the dead man. They blame Doctor and Sarah, want to see them executed for this crime.
At dawn, the spacehship guys launch a drone-thing. Got it wrong, no propellors at all, just a hovering disc with an eyeball.
Doctor warns them that they’ll never make it off the planet with their stolen cargo. They ignore him and lock him up.
Power failure during launch. The energy monster attacks the ship. Men go out to stop it and are all killed. They raise a force field. It stops the energy monster.
The Doctor goes out to tell the energy monster that it’s okay, they’re leaving empty-handed.
The Doctor falls into the hole as the credits roll.
The spaceship guys plan on jettisoning the minerals and scooting. Sarah runs back to the hols to find the Doctor.
He is falling between universes. Cue Bill & Ted.
The Professor hides some of his mineral samples on board.
They try and leave and can’t. Doctor insists there’s still antimater on-board.
Professor’s turning into a werewolf.
Ship stopped moving at full thrust. Doctor says it’s the antimatter. Professor goes wolfy, kills another crewman.
Doctor and Sarah are blamed, taken to ejector chamber.
Professor drops whatever it was he’d been drinking.
Sarah and Doctor ejected to space as credits roll.
They are unejected at the last moment as a voice calls for help from the Bridge.
Doctor finds the antimatter, and the professor’s liquid. Professor finds the Doctor. Doctor explains. Tells Professor he’s doomed. Professor takes antimatter runs off.
Controller takes some nuclear thing, to go after Professor. Professor ejects antimatter, self, fails at last second.
Chase through the ship. Controller vs. Professor. Professor wins, but is multiplied. There are at least three copies.
Doctor gets Professor and antimatter aboard TARDIS, goes back to planet.
Ship moves away from planet. Professor and Doctor return to spaceship. Doctor picks up Sarah and heads towards London.
