Original air dates February through March 1968. The scene opens with the doors open and sucking them out to space. Jaimie manages to close the doors.
They rib the Doctor about not being able to control the TARDIS, and he says otherwise. The scene cuts to others who have a yeti. Want to get it back from the owner, as there’s a control sphere out there again.
The TARDIS lands in space and is held up in cobwebs. The Doctor jumpstarts it and gets it away, lands in a dark tunnel. It’s an undergound station, but abandoned.
They troop down the creepy tunnels and find them abandoned. Cables being laid by soldiers. Cables run to explosives, which the Doctor finds. Yeti are spraying them with cobwebs. There’s two of them now.
Soldiers get Jaimie and Victoria – she’s quite the screamer – and take them to ask if they were alone, and let them know they’re blowing the tunnels. The Doctor nocies when the explosives go off but are contained by the webbing.
And then five reconstructions follow! Goody!
The Yeti are underground and the troops are trying to stop them by blowing up the tunnels. They’re losing; nothing stops the Yeti.
The Yeti cover another pile of explosives with cobwebs. They don’t blow, they just pulsate.
The Professor and his daughter Ann discuss the suspiciousness of the Doctor being there both times. Ann is dubious.
Soldiers and Jaimie trapped by Yeti are suddenly freed when the Yeti leave them alone. Stuff with a bunch of soldiers and tunnels. Something about a fungus moving down the tunnels.
Jamie and a soldier are looking for the Yeti to smash the glowing pyramid. Victoria is looking for Jamie and the Doctor. The soldiers are all looking for the Doctor, who’s missing.
They get to Monument station, and find the fungus. Hard to see on the telesnaps. They’re trapped, and credits roll.
Jaimie and the soldier shoot the pyramad which explodes.
Colnel Leftbridge-Stewart arrives with the Doctor, finding Victoria along the way back to HQ. Leftbridge-Stewart, Victoria, and the Doctor got back to HQ.
A slideshow in a slideshow. So hard to watch. Leftbridge-Stewart is useful and In Charge.
They make a plan to blow up a tunnel to stop the fungus and give themselves more time. Victoria warns they’ll trap Jaimie.
They’re finding yeti miniatures around, and don’t know who’s moving or using them. They go in to investigate the explosives store where a Yeti had hidden itself and destroyed the explosives. This leads the Doctor to think someone’s in league with the Yeti and let them in. No one knows who.
Lots of tromping around tunnels in the dark. Difficult to follow. Everyone leaves, comes back to find the Yeti have captured Professor Travers.
Soldiers leave to rescue the TARDIS, while the Doctor does sciencey things.
More dramatic music, a pair of Yeti, and thumping sounds to white blurry images. Gunshots. Grenades. Very difficult to follow, but our soldiers are doing soldiery things and not being idiots. Screaming. Soldiers giving directions. Gunshots.
Doctor had gone to street level to scavenge components, and gets picked up by yeti.
The soldiers have lost. All but Leftbridge-Stewart and one other are “gone” and the yeti miniatures are in the room someplace. Credits roll with two episodes left.
Travers comes back and whispers threats from the Intelligence about why the Doctor is needed. It’s for a brain vacuum.
Travers and Victoria are taken to Piccadilly to wait for the Doctor, who has the longest twenty minutes in TV history to fix his device or submit to brain-vacuuming.
More running around, soldiering things, and things getting worse.
Travers and Victoria are taken to a big pyramid, which is different than the old one. They’re stuck waiting for the Doctor to give up.
The Doctor plays his recorder as he wanders down the tunnels. He fills Jaimie in. The Colnel catches up. They’re surrounded by yeti. The Doctor tells them not to struggle.
In the end, the crowd jumps the Doctor and the Yeti, to rescue him and get rid of the Intelligence. The Doctor is frustrated because he had a better plan that they ruined. When it looks like the Doctor will be a famous hero, he, Jaimie, and Victoria flee back to the TARDIS.
